Nathan Patterson makes pencil and pen drawings and airbrush paintings. He began his drawing works 4 years ago after his father passed away. His drawings were a means of expressing his emotions and dealing with loss. This year Nathan began an airbrushing workshop and has developed a body of airbrush portraits. These works begin with creating stencil drawings over a lightbox and then Nathan adds layers of shading with a spray gun to build up tones in the paintings.
Nathan Patterson’s ‘Pink Pelican’ was the recipient of one of the main prize awards at the 2009 Yooralla Showcasing Ability art show.
